As reported first by ESPN, Ireland's Chris Fields (11-7-1) will face Liam McGeary (11-1) in the main event of Bellator 173 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
McGeary is the former Bellator light heavyweight champion after dropping the title to Phil Davus in his last fight this past November. Before that he won eleven straight defeating the likes of Tito Ortiz and Emanuel Newton.
Fields is a veteran of the Irish MMA scene having captured the Cage Warriors middleweight title back in 2012 before competing on season 19 of The Ultimate Fighter at light heavyweight.
Following TUF Fields lost his next two fights in the BAMMA promotion at middleweight before jumping back up to light heavyeweight where he secured a first round submission win over Germany's Dan Konecke.
Bellator 173 and BAMMA 28 will once again be a co-promoted show after the roaring success of their December show.
Norman Parke vs. Paul Redmond is official for the main event of the BAMMA portion of the show while the highly popular prospect James Gallagher (5-0) is also slated to appear on the Bellator card and build on his undefeated run.
