Clan Wars returns in March with a big pro title fight

Just days after Clan Wars 26 wrapped up the Northern Irish promotion has announced their next event and it is set for March 25th in the Crown Plaza, Shawsbridge in Belfast.

Speaking to promoter Paul McLoughlin he revealed that this next event will be special.

"We have a number of big plans for Clan Wars 27. Expect a few amateur title fights, a couple of pro fights and, as always, we will have some of the best amateur fighters from around Ireland competing. I am also working on bringing a big named Irish Muay Thai fighter into the Clan Wars arena for a Caged Thai match-up for the very first time."

Paul did give us the main event however and it is a big title fight.

"I am really excited to announce that Konrad Iwanowski (4-1) will return to defend his Clan Wars Pro Middleweight title and that his opponent will be the undefeated French veteran Christophe Rea (3-0), who is an extremely dangerous striker. This should be a great fight."

It has been over two years since we last saw Iwanowski (pictured below with the belt) in action. He won the Clan Wars title back at Clan Wars 19 with a first round submission win over Conor Cooke. Now after a long break from the sport he is looking forward to returning and make up for time lost.

Rea has a long been a presence on the European martial arts scene fighting in over 20 amateur fights during the nineties. He then took a long break from MMA competition to coach in his own gym. He did return to action earlier this and fought twice, winning both via first round KO/TKOs. Now the veteran has his eyes on winning the Clan Wars belt on March 25th.
