Top unbeaten Irish MMA prospect James Gallagher (5-0) has been assigned his next opponent. Peter Carroll of Newstalk revealed the news earlier today that Gallagher will face Kirill Medvedovski (7-4) in the co-main event of Bellator 173 at the SSE Arena in Belfast on February 24.
The pair were originally slated to meet at a Bellator event in Medvedovski's native Israel late last year. However, the promotion announced their Dublin debut for the month after an moved Gallagher to that card.
'The Strabanimal' is 2-0 in Bellator since making his promotional debut last July and has secured 4 of his 5 wins via submission.
24-year-old Medvedovski started off his pro career with a 6-fight-win-streak but is currently 1-4 in his past five bouts with most of those losses coming against very tough opposition.
