After months of searching for a fight Ronan McKay (11-11) finally has one. He will face Dutch fighter Costello van Steenis (6-1) at the inaugural Combat Performance League show on August 27th in Guildford just outside of London.
McKay was to challenge for the BAMMA Lonsdale middleweight title however the event was postponed and the card got changed around leaving McKay without this opportunity.
Overall though, the EFR fighter is on a four-fight-win-streak, all stoppages, over the likes of Henry Fadipe, Richie Gorey, and Leeroy Barnes. Most recently he stopped SBG's Paul Byrne who had a lot of momentum heading in.
Costello van Steenis has been fighting professional since 2014 and won his first six fights before losing a decision to Jake Bostwick this past December. He has stoppage wins over experienced opponents in Avi Jack, Harry McLeman and Andrei Manzolo.
This should be a good contest between a very experienced veteran in Ronan McKay who, on his day, has the capability to beat anyone on the European scene and a talented and exciting youngster looking to get back to winning ways.
