Yesterday it was revealed that Dennis Siver had withdrawn from UFC 199 leaving BJ Penn without an opponent. Then Artem Lobov then threw his hat into the mix on Twitter by offering to stand in and even offered to donate half his purse to charity (click here to read more).
Now today the UFC dashed 'The Russian Hammers' hopes of fighting a legend like BJ Penn as they revealed that Cole Miller, a former Conor McGregor rival, will step in against 'The Prodigy' at UFC 199.
Artem is 0-2 in the UFC following his entertaining stint on TUF that saw him KO multiple opponents. The SBG fighter is chomping at the bit for another crack inside the Octagon and is seemingly putting himself forward for any fight regardless of how short notice it is. Typical Artem fashion.
The UFC loves fighters who are 1. entertaining and 2. have a 'fight anytime, anywhere' mentality, and Artem has both in spades. I will not be surprised if he does get another UFC fight soon.
