Ricky Hatton was in Dublin recently to promote “The Future” boxing event at the National Boxing Stadium on June 25th and while there he spoke to BUZZ.ie about the potential Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather fight.
“I just can’t see it happening, to be honest.”
“For talk sake, if it was to happen it would have to be a boxing match, because I couldn’t see Floyd getting involved in the mixed martial arts side of it.”
“But saying that, and I’m not one to mince my words, but I think it’s the biggest load of bullshit I’ve ever heard.”
“And that’s no disrespect to Conor McGregor because I’m a huge fan of his and of what he does, but I just can’t see it happening.”
FOX journalist Colin Cowherd says the fight is definitely happening in September (watch here) but no official word has, to the date, been announced. Most people within the fight game echo Hatton's words that the fight will not happen.
