The IMMAF World Championships 2018 are now finished and it was a successful haul for Ireland registering a medal tally of 3 Golds, 2 Silvers & 3 Bronze at the tournament in Bahrain.
Ryan Spillane took gold after winning three fights in total. He was awarded the gold medal today after his scheduled opponent in the final was not cleared to compete. The heavyweight certainly earned the gold by winning all three of his fights via stoppage.
Lee Hammond went viral on the first day of the competition with an insane submission, dubbed 'The Hamoplata' (see here). In total he won four fights en route to being crowned the IMMAF world champion at lightweight.
Ger Harris took the junior flyweight gold after a very tough final fight. After three round the contest was ruled a majority draw and then youngster dug deep to win the championship round to lift the gold medal.
