It was recently confirmed that Irish prospect Blaine O’Drsicoll (4-1) will competed at the upcoming BAMMA 30 card in Dublin's 3Arena on July 7th. The bantamweight is coming off a quality KO win over a tough Darren O'Gorman at Cage Warriors 81 (see here) and is currently riding a three fight win streak.
His opponent for BAMMA 30 will be Englishman Jay Butler (2-2), a tricky submission fight who was last in action back in 2015.
A BAMMA press release read:
After being scheduled for a Bantamweight clash with Chris Miah at BAMMA 29, injury to Miah put an end to Jay ‘Red Bull’ Butler’s return. However, with Blaine O’Driscoll waiting in the wings in Dublin, Butler won’t have too long to wait to get back in and put on the performance he’s been promising the fans deserve. O’Driscoll is another SBG Wonderkind to emerge from John Kavanagh’s coveted gym. Currently drawing attention of his own, he has been planning to add a few more victories to his record before challenging for titles. Adding Butler to that list will be his toughest challenge to date, but one that he’s more than up for. However, Butler isn’t going to lie down for anyone as he has his own destiny with BAMMA Gold and O’Driscoll in his path for the title and plans to remove him in front of his home crowd on July 7th.
"I can't see this guy or anyone else in the division being able to keep up with the pace and speed I fight at. I am looking forward to proving that again on BAMMA30 and picking up my 4th Straight Win in the 3 Arena.” Blaine O'Driscoll
"After the disappointment of not fighting on bamma 29, I'm looking forward to putting on a show in Ireland and upsetting the home town boy. Blaine's a great fighter but I'm not going to Ireland to lose. Prepare for an upset-this is the start of something special" Jay 'Red Bull' Butler
