It was announced earlier today that Chris 'Menace' Stringer (11-12-1) has been added to the upcoming BAMMA 30 card in Dublin on July 7th. His opponent will be German Niklas Stolze (7-2), who currently trains out of SBG Ireland.
Stringer made his MMA return last September after more than three and a half years away from the sport. He faced off against Paul Redmond in a hard fought fight that went the distance but ultimately a fight in which Stringer lost.
It was an extremely tough fight for Stringer to come back to. In the time he had taken off Redmond had fought seven times, including twice in the UFC. Speaking after the fight Redmond and his team said how potentially dangerous Stringer is and why they adapted a less risky gameplan.
Despite a decent performance against a tough opponent after a long layoff, Stringer, like most fighters, is very self critical and is looking to improve on the mistakes he made in the last fight.
"I can't wait to get back into the BAMMA cage," Stringer told us. "It is a chance for me to re-write my mistakes from the last fight against Paul Redmond. It took me a while to get going but make no mistake I'm coming out sharp and ready from the get go in this fight against a tough guy in Niklas Stolze!"
Stringer vs. Holze joins Mulpeter vs. Price and Redmond vs. Sinclair, which were both officially added yesterday.
