It has only been a month since we last saw James Gallagher (6-0) in action, a spectacular and quick win over Kirill Medvedovski in the co-main event of Bellator 173 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Since then people have been clamoring to find out when Gallagher would be in action next. It has looked very likely that he would be competing in London at Bellator 179 on May 19th and everything suggested that until recently.
Over the past few days Bellator announced that they will be heading to Madison Square Garden for Bellator 180 on June 24th. That card will feature Chael Sonnen vs. Wanderlei Silva in the main event and Fedor vs. Matt Mitrione in the co-main event.
With this event being a PPV it is expected that the promotion will stack this card. Phil Davis vs. Ryan Bader almost certain to be added to the main card and many journalist giving their two cents on who should be included on the card.
One such journalist is Ariel Helwani. He tweeted the following saying that he believes Bellator would be making the right move putting Gallagher on such a high profile event to which Gallagher replied.
Since then Gallagher has retweeted everyone who suggest he be on this monumental Bellator card.
So this begs the question - if he was set to compete on the London card then why would be be giving the Madision Square Garden event so much attention? Please remember that Gallagher stated he has a "big fight" to be announced soon.
