FAI's Joe McColgan got back to winning ways and moved to 3-1 as a professional with a win over the previously undefeated Welsh fighter Richard Williams (4-1).
McColgan latched in a guillotine choke and forced Williams to tap with literally one second remaining in the fight. Although it did seem that the Belfast fighter was certainly en route to a unanimous decision but credit to him for not being happy with a decision and pushing for the finish.
McColgan will certainly be happy with getting back in the win column after suffering the first defeat of his young professional career back in April at Cage Warriors 81 in very close fight against the much more experienced Arnold Quero (14-5). That fight ended in a split decision.
Prior to that McColgan won his first two pro bouts back to back against fellow amateur standout Tom Hogan and Conor McGregor teammate Peter Queally, respectively.
