Irish MMA legend and fan favourite Neil Seery (16-12) will make that final walk to the cage on July 16th at UFC Scotland and his opponent will be dangerous Brazilian Alexandre Pantoja (17-2), a confirmed by Peter Carroll.
Seery was last in action in May of last year but has had a pair of fights with Ian McCall cancelled for various reasons since then. It was up in the air as to whether the 37-year-old would compete again.
“I just want to put a full stop on my career, that’s why I want to fight again,” he told Carroll.
Pantoja comes into this first off a ten-fight-win-streak. 10 years the junior of Seery, Pantoja made his full UFC debut, after a stint on TUF 24,, in January this year with a split decision over Eric Shelton. This will be the Brazilian's first fight in Europe.
Seery is 3-3 in the UFC since making his debut as a late replacement against Brad Pickett in 2014. Yet to have a boring fight in the Octagan, the Dubliner has entertained many and made a great account for himself in the flyweight division doing well against some of the best.
