Next Generation Northern Ireland had a good night in Wolverhampton on Saturday night at Golden Ticket Fight Promotions: Fight Night 5.
Sean O'Brien captured the promotion's amateur middleweight title with a devastating TKO win over Kody Steele while earlier in the night George Courtney scored a unanimous decision win over Chris Stirling in the lightweight division. Both fighters are on great runs now as amateurs.
Courtney posted the following on facebook about the wins for the club.
"Just home after getting my first taste of fighting across the water. Two fights, two wins for the club. Just want to thank everyone for all their nice messages. And to my coach Rodney Moore who puts so much work in to our club and to all his fighters. He never stops I take my hat off to him. And to Alan Philpott for coming down from Liverpool to help us get ready for the fights. Watch out for Sean O'Brien the mans a beast in the cage."
Elsewhere on the night Cork's Ronan Manning was on the wrong end of a decision to Andy Yates.
