Tough night for Irish fighters in Scotland

A number of Irish fighters made the short journey to Scotland to compete at Headhunters FC last night.

In the co-main event the talented Adam Caffrey won his second straight fight with a first round submission win over local guy Jason Woods. Caffrey turned pro in 2015 but hasn't been able to compete as regularly as he would want. After losing his pro debut against Dylan Tuke at BAMMA 22 he bounced back by beating Blaine O'Driscoll over six months later. Now a further 14 months later he secured his second pro win.

Amateur fighters from Ireland went 1-4 on the night. Here are the results (Irish fighters in bold):

Pro Bantamweight
Adam Caffrey (2-1, Rush) def. Jason Woods (1-2) via sub (armbar), round 1.

Amateur Contests
FW: Hayden Murray def. Yousef Jaafar (EFR) via unanimous decision.
BW: Kieran Reid def. Stewart Dollery (Soul Rollers) via TKO, round 1.
BW: Keir Harvie def. Alan Kavanagh (SBG Swords) via unanimous decision.
LW: Micheal Quinn (EFR) def. Mark Ewen via sub (armbar), round 2.
