Andy Young (8-7) was originally set to fight for the BAMMA flyweight title but the show got postponed amid new medical measures. Now last night the Next Gen NI fighter announced that he will instead fight for the FCC flyweight title in just over two weeks on June 18th when he faces Aaron Aby (7-2).
Young took to facebook and said the following about the fight:
"So I can officially announce that I will be fighting on top show FCC - Full Contact Contender for the flyweight title! June 18th in Bolton, at the Macron Stadium. I have had to sit idle waiting on competition since October and with the unfortunate postponement of the world title to September 10th, I just can't wait around that long. I want competition and happy to have the opportunity to fight and collect another British title while I wait. One more to add to the collection, before I take the world!"
Aby goes into this fight on a four-fight-win-streak. Overall he has four first round finishes, three via submission. Young is on a two-fight-streak which includes a UCMMA flyweight title win.
