After a promising amateur career that culminated in him winning bronze earlier this month at the IMMAF World Championships in Las Vegas, Team Ryano's Hughie O'Rourke is set to make his professional debut.
O'Rourke is regular training partner of UFC flyweight Neil Seery and amassed a record of 9-2 as an amateur. Being one of Ireland's top prospects he will be a welcome addition to Ireland's ever growing rank of professional fighters.
The flyweight will travel to Scotland to compete on First Fighting Championship on August 20th. His opponent will be fellow debutant Kevin Lobban from the Skyaxe MMA gym. Not much is known about Lobban other than he has two amateur wins registered on Sherdog.
