SBG Ireland's Cian Cowley will make his pro debut at BAMMA 29 in Birmingham on May 12th. The Dubliner will face local fighter, and fellow debutant, David Khalsa in a 73kg catchweight bout.
A BAMMA press release read:
"Hugely popular Irish fighter Cian Cowley makes his long awaited pro debut in Birmingham at BAMMA 29. The former Thai Boxer faces Birmingham’s David Khalsa, a popular local fighter who always comes to fight. In what will likely be a dynamic big hitting bout, this will be one that will have the fans in attendance and the ones watching online on their feet as the action unfolds.
"Cian Cowley (Pro Debut) needs little introduction in his home country of Ireland. The Dubliner has long been touted as the next big thing coming out of SBG Ireland. Under the tutelage of John Kavanagh, Cowley has put his extensive Thai Boxing to good use within the cage. After narrowly missing out on the IMMAF World finals last year due to an injury picked up in the quarter finals, Cowley is now set to take the Lightweight professional ranks by storm.
"David Khalsa (Pro Debut) is a brawler who always comes to fight. Fighting all of his amateur career in or around Birmingham, Khalsa is set to bring his crowd pleasing style to the pro ranks as he once more brings his hometown support out to roar on the RPMMA standout."
