SBG's Paul Byrne (6-2) will travel to the Czech Republic to face former Bellator lightweight champ Attila Vegh (29-8-2) at Oktagon 3 on July 29th.
Byrne, who has lost his past two fights, was last in action in February 2016 at BAMMA 24 against Andy DeVent. The heavy hitter originally went 6-0 as a pro with all his wins come via TKO/KO. An opportunity like this will no doubt have him motivated and he will be eager to make up for some lost time.
A professional fighter for almost 10 years now, Vegh has fought for promotions such as M-1, KSW, and won the Bellator light heavyweight title in 2013 after a five fight win streak in the company. He lost the title in his first defense and has since lost three more contests, albeit against high quality opposition.
The 31-year-old is incredibly well rounded and has notable wins over the likes of Emanuel Newton, Christian M'Pumbu, Travis Wiuff, and Aslambek Saidov, to name just a few.
Despite Byrne being primarily a middleweight this fight will be contested at light heavyweight for the promotions vacant 205lb title.
