Limerick's Sean 'The Machine' Tobin (4-2) will make his American MMA debut on March 18th when he faces Joey Banks (3-1) in the Sparta Combat League promotion in Denver, Colorado.
Tobin is currently over in Colorado training for the bout in order to get used to the altitude as Denver is one mile above sea level. The Trials Ireland head coach was last in action at BAMMA 24 over a year ago where he submitted Irish veteran Gary Morris in the second round.
Since then though Tobin has been matched a number of times against various opponents in different organisation but for a variety of reasons they never came into fruition.
Here is faces Joey Banks, a student of Duane 'Bang' Ludwig and a well known kickboxer in the Denver area. Banks was last in action in 2013 and it looks like he has never had a boring fight. All four of his pro MMA fights have finished via TKO/KO within the first minute of the very first round.
This seems to be like an old-school clash of styles fight where the wrestler (Tobin) faces the striker (Banks).
