Joe McColgan accepts Kiefer Crosbie's open offer for BAMMA

Joe McColgan accepts Kiefer Crosbie's open offer for BAMMA

SBG's Kiefer Crosbie (1-0) laid out an open challenge on facebook offering to fight any welterweight for free in order to get on the BAMMA 26 card on September 10th.

"Who Wants to See me Fight on that Card? I Will Fight ANY Welterweight they Give me FOR FREE if they put me on. Fuck the Money all i want is a Confirmed Fight. I live 5 Minutes away from The Point and ive always dreamed of Fighting there. I will have that place packed out and I will finish whoever they put on front of me in the First round. Lets Get this Done!!"

The soon after FAI's Joe McColgan (1-0), who is pictured above and was once known as 'The SBG Hunter', stepped up to the plate and accepted the fight saying; "Happy days...I'll take that fight, and both purses", via facebook.

Both fighters were very experienced amateur fighters and had been on the local scene a long time before making their pro debuts. Crosbie defeated Keith McCabe at Battlezone 15 in April and a few months previous McColgan defeated Tom Hogan at Battlezone 14 last November.

No word yet from BAMMA on whether they are interested in this fight but both Crosbie and McColgan are very popular on the local scene that it might be a major oversight from the matchmaker not to include them on the card either against each other or in separate fights.

[Video] McGregor reveals things are getting better with the UFC after meeting

Wednesday night Conor McGregor met up with Dana White in LA for the first time since he was pulled from UFC 200 (click here to watch the video), seemingly to hash things out between them.

Then last night McGregor appeared on ESPN's Sports Centre where a snippet of his interview aired revealing that himself and the UFC are reaching a middle ground and that there is no place for emotion in business.

The full interview will be out on Sunday but here is the minute snippet:

[Video] Conor McGregor and Dana White met up in LA last night

TMZ Sports caught the following footage of Dana White and Conor McGregor meeting up last night at a Beverly Hills Hotel seemingly to hash everything out. This would be the pair's first face to face since the whole UFC 200 fiasco in which the UFC brass pulled him from the card for supposedly not doing media duties.

After the meeting you can clearly see McGregor being his chirpy self while Dana White simply posted a smiley face on Twitter last night.

I guess we will know more in the coming days. For now you can watch the video below and watch McGregor spar with a former boxing champ here.

Paul Craig in Twitter battle with Chris Fields and Dylan Tuke

Paul Craig in Twitter battle with Chris Fields and Dylan Tuke

Earlier this evening Chris Fields sent out a harmless tweeted praising referee Marc Goddard for his work in a recent fight. But then BAMMA champ and Fields' future opponent stepped in with a cheeky comment saying Fields with get finished in the first round of their fight at BAMMA 26.

Then Dylan 'The Nuke' Tuke stepped in to back up his SBG teammate Fields. The fight is between Fields and Craig but the twitter war ended up being Tuke vs. Craig.

Here are the highlights:

As of posting Chris Fields hadn't responded to Craig. The two will meet at BAMMA 26 on September 10th, here is the teaser trailer which saw them in a verbal exchange backstage at BAMMA 24 in Dublin.

Peter Queally fighting at Venator in Milan this weekend

Peter Queally fighting at Venator in Milan this weekend

Peter Queally (8-2) will embark on a mission to face Giorgio Pietrini (5-3) on the massive Venator FC 3 card this weekend.

The SBG fighter has won his past three fights and will be looking to extend that winning streak to four for the first time in his pro career.

His opponent is a bit of an unknown quantity. Pietrini seems like a well rounded fighter having won fights via TKO, submission and decision. Two of his three loses have come against the same guy - Marvin Vetorri (9-2) - and the other was against the highly rated Christophe van Dijck (7-2). So he has really only been beaten by good opposition.

The big thing here for Queally is 1) get the win and 2) get a finish. In ten professional fights he has went the distance ten times. That means he has clocked up an incredible 150 minutes of cage time during his career so far.

No doubt he is knocking on the door of the UFC but he really needs a finish to give himself an extra boost to get in.

Venator FC 3 is headlined by Rousimar Palhares (18-6) vs. Emil Weber Meek (7-2-1,1 NC) and will also feature Luke Barnatt(10-3) vs. Jason Mayhem Miller (23-9, 1 NC) and a clash in veterans with Sokoudjou (16-14) vs Matt Hamill (11-6).

Ronan McKay campaigning for a slot on Bellator London card

Ronan McKay campaigning for a slot on Bellator London card

One of Ireland and the UK's most underrated and unheralded middleweights Ronan McKay (11-11) recently took to twitter to campaign for a slot on the upcoming Bellator London card in July.

McKay was recently left disappointed after his scheduled BAMMA Lonsdale title fight (read more here) was postponed after BAMMA moved the date of their Dublin show until mid September. This move of dates has left many fighters, who were already in camps, with uncertainty and seeking fights elsewhere in the meantime.

The EFR man is currently on a four-fight-win-streak which includes wins over SBG's Paul Byrne, UK vet Leeroy Barnes and highly rated Irish fighters Henry Fadipe & Richie Gorey. McKay also holds a notable win over UFC veteran Cathal Pendred and all of his wins have come via stoppage and only one fight in 22 pro outings has went the distance.

James McErlean vs. Dec Larkin announced for Akuma FC 8

James McErlean vs. Dec Larkin announced for Akuma FC 8

Akuma Fighting Championship 8 takes place on July 2nd from the Templeton Hotel, Northern Ireland. Today the promotion announced another pro fight for the card, this is in addition to the Darren O'Gorman vs. Gavin Kelly title fight (read here).

Next Gen NI's Dec Larkin (13-10) will face EFR's James McErlean (4-3). Both men were scheduled to fight at BAMMA against different opponents (Larkin - Myles Price and McErlean - Patrick Wixted) but the postponement of that card left many in the middle of camp without fights.

McErlean is primarily known as a bantamweight has fought two of Larkin's Next Gen teammates in the past going 1-2 against them. He comes into this fight having stopped a three-fight-skid by beating Niall Smyth at Akuma 7 in February.

Larkin will be fighting for the first time in 2016 and will be glad to be competing so close to home after a pair of fights in mainland Europe didn't go his way at the tail end of 2015. Last time he fought at home he captured the Chaos belt defeating Gavin Carlin via first round submission.

A press release from Akuma read:

"Here we have a extremely exciting and entertaining professional lightweight match up between two fighters from two of Ireland prestigious gyms

Both these fighters where scheduled to fight different opponents on BAMMA 26 in June but with the rescheduling of the show to Sept due to new safety implications both fighters are in shape and still keen to compete and what a match up it is.

Dec Larkin is well known on the MMA scene being a top referee and promoter himself. Dec is a highly rated and experienced fighter and also Chaos Professional Lightweight Champion fighting out of NxtGen Ballymena under popular coach Rodney Moore

James McErlean is a talented popular young athlete fighting out of EFR martial arts under renowned top coach David Patterson. James is coming into this fight moving up a weight division after his last Akuma outing with a hard earned FW victory.

This match up has the making of being fight of the night and certainly a crowd pleasure when both these fan favorites go head to head on July 2nd."
