Northern Ireland's Gavin Kelly (8-3) put pen to paper last week and signed an exclusive multi-fight contract with Cage Warriors. The contract is for five fights over the next 18 months and the bantamweight looks likely to have his first fight already in the works although it isn't announced yet.
The 29-year-old is no stranger to Cage Warriors. Earlier in his pro career he fought three time for the promotion. Now he returns off two good back to back wins over experienced veteran Steven McCombe and Neil Ward, thus avenging an earlier loss.
Speaking to us, Kelly said he isn't there to make up the numbers and has his sights set on becoming a Cage Warriors champion.
"I'm delighted to have signed for Cage Warriors as it is what I have wanted since my first fight with the promotion. I signed to test my skills against the best bantamweights in Europe on the best promotion in Europe and I have five fights to put Team Evolve on the map and become the Cage Warriors Bantamweight World Champion.
"I have a good group of people around me to achieve this. My MMA coach at Team Evolve Jason McCabe, my S&C coach John McMahon, my neuromuscular therapist John Rosborough and my chiropractor Marie Rosborough. These are the people who will help me get to where I know I can go."
